Hi everyone, and how great it is to finally be a member and here among you. I've been playing guitar since I was 7 years old, but that by no means makes me an expert which is why I'm here. I've always been a strummer and great lover of chords and Pop/rock music. I've had some minor success with my music as background music in programs like MTV etc and gigged extensively up until I got married 10 years ago. Now, at the age of 35, I'm able to enjoy playing music for once and I've discovered this wonderful website full of instructors. I've always wanted to have a stab at classical guitar, and now Christmas has come early because my wife has agreed to let me become a member and indulge myself.
Independent of this website I've learned two pieces, Verdis overture and Cavatina. However, I've since forgotten how to play Cavatina ( it was 10 years ago) and that's when I found Taji on the Youtube showing me how to rediscover this great piece. I think he among others are wonderful instructors, and I love how quick and easy it all is. One of the great things about the internet is that it makes it that little bit easier to find an instructor and learn the music you love. Growing up we NEVER had anyone to teach us this stuff in Ireland so I consider myself greatly blessed to have this.
I look forward to contributing to the forums, and hope you can all encourage me to get up to your standards. I'm confident many of you have also greatly benefited from this website.
Speak soon.
